Tom
Kellner lives with his family on the Miller River in the North-Central
part of Massachusetts. His house sits sheltered by the trees,
on a hill overlooking the river. Nearby the river bank is
an old barn which serves as his studio.
It
is here that he does his creative work, turning out his sculptures,
making living works of art out of simple natural materials,
wood, marble, granite, limestone.
His
uncomplicated, straightforward approach to his art belies
the depth of his education, degree from Holy Cross, master's
in fine arts from UMass. His lectures at the Worcester Museum
might be the only giveaway. Here, he works with students on
the fundamentals and skills of sculpture.
Tom
Kellner has also done ice sculptures for the towns of Worcester
and Orange , MA., and as commissioned by the Worcester Art
Museum.
